Yhä ohuemmaksi menee langat... Ostin heti joulun jälkeen todella ohuen kerän virkkauslankaa, jonka värit sopivat kirjaan, jota juuri luen (Neil Gaimanin Fragile Things). Oikeastaan joku turkoosi-valkoinen olisi ollut parempi, mutta kun sellaista ei sattunut olemaan, vanha roosa sai luvan kelvata. Lopputulos on ihailtavissa alla.
I've moved to thinner and thinner threads. Soon I'll probably be crocheting with sewing thread... :o Well, after Christmas holiday I had to go to LYS to buy some thread that would have appropriate colours to fit the book I'm currently reading: Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman. Actually I would've like to find something turquoise-white, but there was not quite that available, so I ended up to old rose. Here's what it looks like:
Lanka / thread: DMC Petra Crochet cotton 8
(~1 g)
Koukku / hook: 1,25 mm
Ohje / pattern: Fan bookmark by Crochetroo
Ja tuo ylläoleva kirjanmerkki on siis vaihteeksi itselleni. :) Oli yllättävän helppo virkata, vaikka näyttää monimutkaiselta. Ja onneksi oli melko vaalea lanka; siitä näki hyvin, mitä oli tekemässä. En tiedä, olisiko yhtä kiva malli yksivärisestä langasta tehtynä, mutta tästä tykkään kyllä, vaikka se aika herkkä ja pitsinen onkin. Minulla on samaa lankaa myös vihertävänä, eri kirjoja varten. Aion siitäkin tehdä itselleni ainakin yhden kirjanmerkin tällä mallilla, sitten voisi ehkä yrittää keksiä jotain muitakin malleja kokeiltavaksi.
For a change I made this to myself. It was easier than it looked like. Luckily I had so light thread, I could easily see what I was doing. I like this bookmark, though it's a bit too lacey for my general taste. :) I've already bought a greenish thread for another bookmark. I think I'll do one fan bookmark more for myself, then it would be nice to try some other pattern.

Thank you for the praise. :) But much of the beauty comes from the pattern itself. I couldn't design so fabulous bookmarks myself - though I wish to be able some day. My native language is Finnish.
Tuo pitsisempi kirjanmerkkimalli pääsee kokeiluun =) Varastoistani ei löydy tällä hetkellä tuollaista kirjavaista lankaa, mutta eiköhän yksivärinenkin joltain näytä. =)
Varmasti yksivärisestäkin tulee kiva. Olen nähnyt kuvia yksivärisistä ainakin Ravelryssä ja näyttävät myös ihan kivoilta.
